We all know how cool social media can be, especially when you’re using it to promote your blog or business. But, it has it’s downsides, too.
Well, another week has gone by and to be honest, I don’t even know where this one went to! Busy, busy! I did manage to sneak a couple of movies in - Star Trek and Terminator Salvation. And yes, if you haven’t noticed, I’m a bit of a sci-fi geek! And? Ahem….So, Star Trek is awesome. Whether you’re a trekkie or not, if you like good action then this is the film to see. I plan to go see this one again. Terminator was alright. Mind you, I’m a huuuuuge Terminator fan. This film was a tad predictable and somewhat of a lame storyline…well, more acurately, it was flat. I think it could have been fleshed out more. But, it was entertaining.
Ok, I totally feel you guys hitting the snooze button on me, but this is super important. Way too many people walk away with a shiny new bank account and no idea how it works, then they want to blame the bank for not telling them how things work. Well guess what? The average bank’s disclosure booklet has about 50 pages worth of information, so if we were to sit down and go over absolutely everything with you, it would take 1-2 hours. How many of you would actually sit in there and talk with a banker for that long without getting antsy?

I will probably blog about credit cards for the rest of my life without seeing any larger, more significant events than those of this week. When President Obama signs the Credit Card Bill of Rights, it will be a whole new ballgame out there. There is a lot of disinformation out there about the effects of this bill. On many of it’s ramifications it is fair to say that no one knows how the future will look.
I was reading an article at Yahoo! Finance from earlier this week about executive perks, and I have to say, I think I want to be a CEO when I grow up!
Yesterday, I tore into both the banking industry scare tactics and the New York Time’s recitation of them as fact. It was obvious to me that their predictions of doom and gloom were highly unlikely to be realized in the hyper competitive market that is the credit card industry.
